End of the Year Music Review: #5

My Top 5 Songs of 2011
The Year’s coming to an end and it’ll soon be time for anyone who’s anyone to make their End Of Year Lists/ Reviews. Well, I’ve decided to beat them to it. Find below No 5 on my 5 Songs of the Year List. The remaining would come on a day to day basis. Enjoy:

Special Mention to:

‘Someone Like You’- Adele

‘Moves like Jagger’- Maroon 5 w/ Christina Aguilera

I’m On One- DJ Khaled w/ Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne

‘E.T’- Katy Perry w/ Kanye West

‘Look At Me Now’- Chris Brown w/ Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne

‘Blue Sky’- Common(My best song of the last few weeks)

‘Lighters’- Bad Meets Evil w/ Bruno Mars

‘Best Thing I Never Had’- Beyoncé

5)All of the Lights (Kanye West w/ Rihanna, Fergie, Kid Cudi etc): Towards the end of 2010, Kanye West was unavoidable. He dropped the critically acclaimed ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ and had his ‘Thriller’ moment with the short film ‘Runaway’. ‘All of the Lights’ was the most significant song on the album that hadn’t featured on the G.O.O.D Friday series. The instrumental’s amazing and the lyrics are pretty simple and easy to understand. The line “MJ gone/our nigga dead” particularly gave me chills. Officially released as a single in January, it also has an interesting side note to it with the list of credited vocalists also including Drake, Alicia Keys, The Dream, Ryan Leslie, John Legend, Tony Williams, Elly Jackson and Charlie Wilson. An epilepsy inducing video and A list remix later (Drake, Big Sean and Lil Wayne), ‘All of the Lights’ was one of the standout songs of 2011.
