4) I’m A Boss (Meek Mill w/ Rick Ross): In 2009, hip hop’s stand out collective was the Lil Wayne led ‘Young Money. 2010 was dominated by Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music. 2011 saw the rise of Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group. Meek Mill, the Philadelphia rapper was featured on XXL’s Freshman List and was gaining mainstream attention.  His affiliation with Ross’s new collective was the cherry on his cake. Ricky Ross’s improvement and elevation to people’s favorite with 2010’s ‘Teflon Don’ is the most significant I’ve observed since I actually started paying attention to Rap music. How a ‘tough’ rapper could overturn the ignominy of having his background as a correctional officer revealed in addition to a messy fall out with 50 Cent and come out on top beats me. By far one of hip hop’s most relevant forces of the past 18months, he has tailored his music in a particular direction and succeeded in making one of the most distinct sounds around. ‘I’m a Boss’ was particularly a particularly huge in the summer.  *Rick Ross grunt*
